Book signing and selling my own stuff

11 Dec

I am selling and signing some of my books on Saturday, and it is quite an exciting thought. Having frequently attended the Hay Literary Festival as an audience member I feel like a gamekeeper turned poacher. The books are starting to sell and I have found that I can order smallish numbers from the printers and make a profit selling them via the company website, http://www.chelonist.com. This means turning the site into an e-commerce thingy and posting copies off myself, which is not something I ever envisaged doing when I started to write. The thing is, selling a print on demand book through booksellers and retailers makes the books look comparatively expensive. This way I cut out the middle man and make a modest profit whilst keeping the price reasonable.

In the meantime I had better start to practice my signature as Jon Wakeham
