It must be some kind of nesting instinct. Christmas comes and I hoard away food and make jams and pickles and things, Hazel decorates rooms. The blur room certainly needed changing. It was the first room we decorated when we moved here, fourteen years ago. It was to be a room for my daughter who was then a young teenager. She is now twenty eight and married. The motif of sun and stars on a dark blue background was on curtains, one wall and bedding. The walls are now ‘White Whisper’ and ‘Duck Egg’, otherwise bandage and pale teal. The curtains and bedding will be mostly teal. So it is now the Teal room. The smell of emulsion paint is still quite strong, but it should be habitable in a day or so. The bed-frame and headboard is still bright blue.
By the by, No. 1 daughter is making some really great things, such as handbags formed as cakes or sushi rolls, These are quirky and witty. Have a look at:
